Road Racing (Sprint Racing) on the Infield
Oswego Speedway Karting Program is one of the fastest growing in the country.
Our track is located at 300 East Albany Street, Oswego, NY (map).
The track is a road course, complete with straightaways, left and right hand 90 degree turns.
There are classes for all ages, depending on what type of race engine you choose.
We use WKA (World Karting Association) as our rules for competition and safety.
Karting is not only fun, but is the training ground for tomorrow's
professional drivers. An example of drivers who started in karts includes Emerson
Fittipaldi, Scott Pruett, Al Unser Sr., Jeff Gordon, Rusty Wallace, Lake Speed, Jamie McMurray,
Jeff & Ward Burton, Juan Pablo Montoya, Tony Stewart and Michael Andretti.
Kart racing gives you the opportunity to learn about all aspects of racing vehicle
dynamics, engine tuning, and proper driving techniques.

You Could be Racing for Under $2,500!
Karting is one of the least expensive forms of motorsports. Good competitive used equipment
is how most people choose to begin.
We race on an SL compound tire which
is harder than the sticky tires; therefore they last longer.
Depending on class and tires used, you could expect
to use 1 to 4 sets of tires per year.
Under normal racing
conditions, the weekly maintenance costs are low and
many people learn to make their own repairs.
Racers at Oswego come from all over Central New York, including
Syracuse, Fulton, Rochester, Ithaca,
Geneva, Utica, Cortland, Watertown, and many locations in between.

Kart Racing is Family Oriented!Children may begin to race at the age of 8, and we have racers in their 60's, too!
Many families help out during the race day as 'pit crews' for the karters.
You'll see family members keeping lap times, working on engines, helping
the racers suit up before the race, and many other activities.
Safety IS #1! All karts are inspected each race day to make sure they are race
ready. In addition, all drivers are required to wear full face helmets with the latest safety rating,
protective clothing, gloves, high-top shoes, and neck collar.
Come on out and spend some time with us. We're always happy to answer your questions and tell
you why we like karting. We think you'll like it too! |
